Angie Phillips, was named Director of Choirs in 2013 and is an alumna of CRHS. After graduating in 2008, she went on to study Music Education at Western Carolina University, graduating from the Honors College summa cum laude. While majoring in Vocal Education, Angie also marched four years with the "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band. She believes in a complete music education experience for all her students. During her time at Cedar Ridge, the choirs have consistently received Superior Ratings at NC MPA in Raleigh and at National Competitions, including first place awards at Festival Disney in Orlando, Florida. Her students have been selected for All-State and NC Honors Choirs. Prior to working at Cedar Ridge, she worked in Lincoln County, NC.
Mrs. Phillips is a member of the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) and The National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Angie is also a member of the Choral Society of Durham and their selective Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Rodney Wynkoop, of Duke University.
Angie lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband, Simon, and their fur babies, Wilson and Finn.
