The Director

Angie Pegram was named Director of Choirs at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough in the Fall of 2013 and is an alumna of CRHS. After graduating in 2008, she went on to study Music Education at Western Carolina University, graduating from the Honors College summa cum laude (2012). Angie was an active vocalist in University Chorus, Concert Choir, Early Music Ensemble and several small ensembles. Angie sang with the Asheville Lyric Opera for several operatic choruses during her time at Western Carolina. While majoring in Vocal Education, Angie also marched four years with the "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band. She believes in a complete music education experience for all her students.

During her time at Cedar Ridge, the choirs have consistently received Superior Ratings at NC MPA in Raleigh and at National Competitions, including first place awards at Festival Disney in Orlando, Florida.  Her students have been selected for NC All-State Choirs, NC Honors Choirs, and Governor's School. Prior to working at Cedar Ridge, she worked in Lincoln County, NC.

Ms. Pegram is a member of the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) and The National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Angie is an alumna of Sigma Alpha Iota, serving as Song Director, as well as Pi Kappa Lambda Honors Society in Music. Angie served as the clinician for the Person County Elementary Honors Chorus in 2018. Angie is frequently sought after as a solo performer for churches in the Triangle Area. She has been hired in Ensemble Choruses for performances at DPAC, including the Durham Sesquicentennial Celebration premiere of "I Choose Durham." She also has sung with a number of local community choruses, including the Alamance Chorale.

Angie is returning in her fifth season as a member of the Choral Society of Durham as well as their selective Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Rodney Wynkoop, of Duke University. Angie lives in Durham, North Carolina.
