The Century Resources order will be in next Thursday, April 25th. Please plan for your student to bring home their items, or arrange to come by the school by 6:00pm. The chorus has no way to keep your items past the delivery day, so please don't forget to come by and pick up your fundraiser.
Auditions for positions in the Sotto Voce and Chamber Ensemble will be held after school on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23, in the Chorus Room.
Sunday, April 28th gives us a unique fundraising opportunity! Last year, the choir sang at Antioch Baptist Church during the Sunday service, and again afterwards, in the fellowship hall, while the boosters provided a spaghetti lunch. The Chorus received money from the freewill offering that was collected as people came into the fellowship hall to eat.
They have invited us back this year, and again, the choir will sing during the service and afterwards, while the boosters provide the spaghetti lunch. This opportunity is open to ANY choir student, whether in Concert, Chamber or Sotto Voce. We will need lots of booster parents to help with the donation of food items. Please plan to attend, hear the choir sing, and donate some sauce or salad fixings to help us out. Contact Cindy Lloyd about donating food items. (Directions from CRHS to Antioch Baptist Church) Chamber Ensemble participates in the All-County Chorus at Orange High School in Hillsborough on Saturday, April 20. The event starts at 9:00am but students should arrive by 8:45am and bring their own lunches.
The day concludes with a concert at 3:00pm that all are welcome to attend. Admission to the concert is $5.00. On Thursday, April 18 at 7:30pm, Chamber Ensemble and Sotto Voce will join the combined choirs of Elon University in a concert featuring the work of Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. Selections include “Dark Night of the Soul,” “Luminous Night of the Soul,” and the Sunrise Mass. A chamber string ensemble will accompany the choirs.
April 17 Rehearsal: Students will leave right after school and travel by bus to Elon. They will return to CRHS by 9:30pm and will stop to eat on the way back, and they will need money to purchase food. Again, students will leave right after school, eat somewhere, possibly on Elon's campus, and perform, returning by 9:30pm. Students will need their chorus uniforms on Thursday for the performance, and will need money to purchase food.
