On Thursday, April 18 at 7:30pm, Chamber Ensemble and Sotto Voce will join the combined choirs of Elon University in a concert featuring the work of Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. Selections include “Dark Night of the Soul,” “Luminous Night of the Soul,” and the Sunrise Mass. A chamber string ensemble will accompany the choirs.
April 17 Rehearsal: Students will leave right after school and travel by bus to Elon. They will return to CRHS by 9:30pm and will stop to eat on the way back, and they will need money to purchase food. April 18 Concert: The performance is at 7:30pm in McCrary Theatre (see parking info below) on the campus of Elon University, and is open to all parents who would like to come. Again, students will leave right after school, eat somewhere, possibly on Elon's campus, and perform, returning by 9:30pm. Students will need their chorus uniforms on Thursday for the performance, and will need money to purchase food. Directions and parking There is limited parking by McCrary Theatre but there is parking about a 5 minute walk across campus. Take Interstate 85/40 to Exit 140 (University Drive). From southbound 85/40, exit right and turn right. From northbound 85/40, exit right and turn left. Stay on University Drive for 1.4 miles and turn right on Highway 70 East/S. Church Street. Take Highway 70 East/S. Church Street to Williamson Avenue (.7 miles). Turn left on Williamson. Follow this road for 1.7 miles. You will cross railroad tracks as you enter the campus area. Turn right at the stoplight on Haggard Avenue. Turn left at the stoplight on N. O'Kelly Ave. Take the first left into the Visitors Parking Lot at Moseley Center. Comments are closed.
